Frequently asked questions
Answers about installation, profiles, MCP, the local API, AI clients, and support.
Does IFox9 include an AI model?
No. IFox9 provides browser profiles and local browser-control interfaces. You need your own supported AI client and any required model access.
What is the difference between MCP and the Local API?
MCP lets an AI client discover and call IFox9 browser tools. The optional Local API is an authenticated HTTP interface for local integrations. MCP can work while the Local API switch is off.
Are profiles completely anonymous?
No product can promise that. Profiles separate browsing state, but websites may evaluate network information, account behavior, device signals, and other data. Use only accounts and workflows you are authorized to operate.
What should I try when a client cannot connect?
Keep IFox9 running, open API & MCP, confirm the client is detected and configured, restart the AI client, then test the connection. See the troubleshooting guide for current error codes.
Where can I get more help?
Review the documentation or contact IFox9 support with your app version, operating system, client name, and a description of the issue. Do not send access tokens or account passwords.
Does an antidetect browser guarantee that store accounts will not be banned?
No. IFox9 separates browser state; it cannot guarantee an account outcome. Store platforms also evaluate account eligibility, business activity and network signals. Follow each platform’s current rules for multiple accounts and use only accounts you are authorized to operate.
How can Claude or Codex operate a specific store profile?
Configure a detected client in IFox9’s AI Assistant panel (API & MCP in earlier builds), restart the client and test the connection. Ask the assistant to list profiles and confirm the intended one before opening a page. See the setup and report-download walkthrough for a sample prompt and result checks.
Can IFox9 manage products and orders across every marketplace automatically?
There is no universal marketplace compatibility guarantee. IFox9 provides browser tools; your assistant operates the pages available in your session. Test the actual workflow, including login, filters and export controls, on your platform before relying on it for routine work.
Does browser automation send store data to my AI provider?
It can. The connected AI client or model provider may receive page text, screenshots and tool results. A local MCP connection does not mean all processing stays on your computer. Review the data and permission guide before working with customer or account data.
