Browser profile isolation: cookies, fingerprints and proxies

Understand what an isolated browser profile separates, how proxy and fingerprint settings differ, and how to check a profile before using it for an account.

What does browser profile isolation actually separate?

An IFox9 profile keeps its own cookies, local storage, cache and browser settings. Use separate profiles when you need distinct browser sessions, such as different authorized store accounts. Isolation helps prevent accidentally reusing another account’s browser state; it does not decide whether a platform permits those accounts.

Profiles, private browsing and proxies solve different problems

Choose the right separation mechanism
MechanismWhat it doesWhat it does not establish
Saved profileKeeps a reusable browser session and its settings separate from other profiles. It does not by itself change the public IP address.
Private browsingProvides a temporary browsing session whose local data is normally removed when the private session ends.It is not a persistent account workspace or an anonymity guarantee.
ProxyRoutes supported browser traffic through the configured endpoint. It does not separate cookies or authorize multiple accounts.
Fingerprint settingsConfigure browser-exposed characteristics for a profile. They do not guarantee that every signal is hidden or that an account will avoid review.

How should I prepare a profile?

  1. Give it a clear account or task name and a group your team understands.
  2. Select the intended proxy if required and verify that it works before signing in.
  3. Review the profile configuration summary, including OS, language, time zone and rendering settings. Avoid changing multiple unrelated values during troubleshooting.
  4. Open a public page, then sign in to the intended account yourself. Confirm the account identity before running automation.

Defaults and available options depend on the installed version. Use the application’s configuration checks and release notes.

What should I verify before handing it to AI?

Confirm the exact profile, account and tab. A successful connection only proves that tools are reachable; it does not prove the assistant chose the right store. Start with a read-only task and inspect the result before allowing changes. Browser isolation and AI tool permissions are separate controls.
